Oeschinen - Mountain lakes to SUP in Switzerland

Intro

Lake Oeschine is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site and is 1.6km long, 1km wide and is arguably one of the most beautiful mountain lakes to SUP in Switzerland and one of its best kept secrets!

It is typically frozen for five months from December to May, so it's an ideal place to paddle board in the warmer summer months. Situated high in the mountains and accessible only by cable car or hiking, the lake is secluded and allows some much-needed peace from day-to-day life. You can truly lose yourself in the nature and take your time to explore this beautiful corner of Switzerland.

Highlights

The Oeschinen Lake is nestled in the dramatic mountain scenery of the surrounding peaks of Blüemlisalp, Oeschinenhorn, Fründenhorn and Doldenhorn. It is a perfect location to take an inflatable paddle board and pump it up at the waters edge. Once on the water, head away from the crowds towards the waterfalls cascading over the mountain edge. From here you can seek out hidden caves and take your time to soak up the simply stunning scenery around you. Keep your eyes peeled for fish swimming below and if you love your outdoor swimming then this is the perfect place to hop in for a refreshing dip - the water here can warm up to 20 Celsius during the summer months.
