STAND UP FOR GIVING TUESDAY

Posted by Jess Davies

Continuing the feel-good vibes from our participation in #optoutside, on the 27th November 2018 we’ll be joining the international movement of #GivingTuesday and raising awareness and funds for a fantastic cause.

Uniting communities around the world, Giving Tuesday harnesses the power of social media to help bring about real change by supporting thousands of organisations and worthy charities. Following on from the recognised shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the charitable movement has been instrumental in re-envisaging the way consumers take part in the commercial driven chaos the end of November has become known for.

“Bake good stuff, make good stuff, donate good stuff, tweet good stuff or even say good stuff”

The power of digital communication

Sanctioning the power of digital communication, the movement has aided charities by generating an incredible 21.7 bn social media impressions and raising $300 million online from last year’s US campaign alone.

It just goes to show how technology and digital communication can be a positive tool when put to good uses, touching more and more people and inspiring good actions along the way.

Stand-up and raise money with Red Paddle Co

Ten years of technology and innovation has meant it has never been easier to get out on the water and gain a new perspective on nature and our surroundings. For us, sharing that experience and continuing to improve it is at the very essence of what we do as a brand – Giving Tuesday and the Opt Outside movement naturally resonates with our own ideals and we just had to get involved.

So, on the 27th our UK team will be working with selected retailers throughout the country by giving 10% all Red Paddle Co sales to our chosen charity - Stand up to Cancer. This fantastic annual fundraising campaign brings the UK together to speed up progress in life-saving cancer research.

In the US and Canada, 10% of sales made through the Red Paddle Co website will be donated to our chosen conservation charity which works to protect the future of our oceans and rivers, so we can all continue to enjoy our natural waterways for years to come.

So, if you are looking to buy a board, whether it be for yourself or as an epic Christmas gift then why not choose to buy on Tuesday and give little back with your purchase this year.
